Nintendo Dsi Vs. Nintendo Ds Lite Video Game Consoles

If you already own a Nintendo DS do you really need to buy a new Nintendo DS Lite? Just like new computers, cars, and digital cameras, it seems like Nintendo is always coming out with new video game consoles to replace the old ones. If you still enjoy playing video games on your old DS you probably don’t need to invest in anything new. However, if you don’t already own either hand-held game console you’ll definitely want to buy a DS Lite instead.
If you’re not a gamer it can be pretty difficult trying to keep up with the latest gadgets. What makes things even more confusing is that many people use the term “Nintendo DS” interchangeably for all the units instead of being specific. So, if you want to purchase a Nintendo DSi or a Nintendo DS Lite console online, make sure the listing is very specific so you don’t end up buying the wrong thing.
The Nintendo DS was released in 2004, the Lite version followed in 2006, and then the DSi in 2009. The DS Lite is more or less a smaller, sleeker, and more durable version of the original DS console. If you’d like to buy a Nintendo DS Lite and are looking for good deals online make sure the prices you find match up to the type of console you want to buy. It doesn’t make sense for you to spend hours online looking for a good deal on an older DS video game console when a DS Lite is what you really want to buy. The DSi is similar to the DS Lite but has additional features such as the ability to take digital photos and play music.
If you’re the kind of person that always has to have the latest and greatest of everything then you probably already know that you won’t be happy with your DS Lite. Just knowing that there’s something newer on the market will probably drive you crazy. However, if you’re perfectly content playing video games on your Nintendo DS Lite and listen to music and take photos with your cell phone then there’s little reason for you to make the upgrade. However, a nice bonus of the DSi is that you can browse the web and download video games which can come in handy.
You’ll notice a spot on the DS Lite where you can keep your stylus safe when not in use. You can also play Game Boy Advance games with the DS Lite which comes with a phony game cartridge to keep the extra slot free of random bits of debris tha

t would otherwise damage your console. You can find lots of used Game Boy Advance games for sale and this extends the collection of games available for you to play on the unit. The Nintendo DSi does not come with the ability to play Gameboy Advance games.
If you already own a Nintendo DS Lite you may or may not need to make an upgrade. If you play a lot of the older Game Boy Advance games you probably won’t be happy since they won’t play on the newer unit. However, if you’d like to try something different you might enjoy some of the new features that come bundled with the DSi such as the web browser, music, and camera applications.
